There was 12:30 game at Gynsill Lane this weekend, so just the two games to report on for this weeks review.
Glenfield United Under 12's 9v9 were in action on Sunday morning at Ellis Park as they took on league leaders Coalville Town.
The first half remained goalless, with the best chances of the half falling to the visitors. On 20 minutes Coalville had a goal ruled out for offside and five minutes later, the visitors should have broken the deadlock.
Good work from number four down the left wing saw him get to the byline before crossing along the floor where an unmarked number 11 hit the ball first time from six yards but shot straight at the Glenfield 'keeper.
The second half did see a breakthrough though as Coalville's number five scored after 34 minutes. A pass across the box was pounced upon by the striker who had a tap in from a couple of yards.
United kept pushing for an equaliser, but it was Coalville who got the decisive second goal. Number ten received the ball from a Glenfield goal kick before striking the ball with the inside of his right foot into the bottom right corner.
It was a fine finish and put the game out of Glenfield's reach. The result also meant only a second home defeat for United in two years. Coalville remain joint top of the Under 12's Division Three table, while Glenfield are fifth in the table with seven points from five games.
Glenfield United 2010 Under 14's were the second and final game of the day, as they took on top of the table Harborough Town 2012.
The league leaders took the lead after 15 minutes. A cross from the left by number 10 reached number 11 in the box who took a touich before firing into the roof of the net.
The lead was doubled on the half hour mark as number 10's shot from the edge of the area was deflected in off Glenfield's number four.
Five minutes after the break, Harborough's number 16 made it 3-0 with a header from a corner. With 20 minutes left the score was complete as a cross from the left hit number six's shin and trickled over the line to make the final score 4-0.
Harborough remain top and are five points clear of second place, while Glenfield are in fourth place with 11 points from their first six games. Their next game is away to eight placed Ibstock United Youth on Sunday.
Finally, congratulations to Glenfield United Under 11s 9v9, who got their first points of the season with a 2-2 draw at Loughborough Dynamo 2004. In fact, Loughborough Dynamo proved a happy hunting ground this weekend, as Glenfield United 2005 U14s beat their Dynamo counterparts 2-1. Those three points leave them seventh in the table with six points from five games.
